What are the advantages of stamping parts?

Stamping processing is the production technology of product parts with the help of conventional or special stamping equipment, so that the sheet metal is directly deformed and deformed in the mold, so as to obtain a certain shape, size and performance. Sheet metal, die and equipment are the three elements of stamping. Stamping is a kind of metal cold deformation processing method. Therefore, it is called cold stamping or sheet stamping, referred to as stamping. It is one of the main methods of metal plastic processing (or pressure processing), and also belongs to material forming engineering technology.  

The die used for stamping is called stamping die, referred to as die. Die is the material (metal or non-metal) batch processing into the required punching special tools. Stamping die is very important in stamping, there is no meet the requirements of stamping die, mass stamping production is difficult to carry out; Without advanced die, advanced stamping technology can not be realized. Stamping process and die, stamping equipment and stamping materials constitute the three elements of stamping processing, only they can be combined with each other to get stamping parts.  

Compared with other machining and plastic processing methods, stamping has many unique advantages both in technical and economic aspects. The main performance is as follows.

The production efficiency of stamping is high, and the operation is convenient, and it is easy to realize mechanization and automation. This is because stamping is to rely on stamping die and stamping equipment to complete the processing, the number of stroke of ordinary press can reach dozens of times per minute, high-speed pressure can reach hundreds or even thousands of times per minute, and each stamping stroke may get a punching piece.

When stamping, because the mold ensures the size and shape accuracy of stamping parts, and generally does not destroy the surface quality of stamping parts, and the life of the mold is generally long, so the quality of stamping is stable, good interchangeability, with the characteristics of "exactly the same".

Stamping can be processed into a larger size range, the shape of the more complex parts, such as small to the clock stopwatch, to the car rail, covering parts, and so on, coupled with the cold deformation hardening effect of stamping materials, stamping strength and stiffness are higher.

Stamping generally does not generate scraps, the consumption of materials is less, and does not need other heating equipment, so it is a kind of material saving, energy saving processing method, the cost of stamping parts is low.  

Because of the superiority of stamping, stamping is widely used in various fields of national economy. For example, in aerospace, aviation, military, machinery, agricultural machinery, electronics, information, railway, post and telecommunications, communications, chemical, medical appliances, household appliances and light industry and other sectors have stamping processing. Not only is it used throughout the industry, but everyone has a direct connection with stamping products. Like airplanes, trains, cars, tractors, there are many large, medium, small stamping parts. Car body, frame and rims and other parts are stamped out. According to relevant statistics, 80% of bicycles, sewing machines and watches are stamping parts. Ninety percent of TV sets, radio recorders and video cameras are stamped; There are metal food canisters, steel boilers, enamel bowls and stainless steel tableware, all stamped products using molds; Even computer hardware is short of stamping parts.  

However, the die used for stamping processing generally has specificity, and sometimes a complex part needs several sets of die to be processed and formed, and the precision of die manufacturing is high, the technical requirements are high, and it is a technology-intensive product. Therefore, only in the case of large production volume of stamping parts, the advantages of stamping processing can be fully reflected, so as to obtain better economic benefits.  

Of course, there are also some problems and shortcomings in stamping. It is mainly manifested in two kinds of public hazards, noise and vibration generated during stamping processing, and operator safety accidents occur from time to time. However, these problems are not entirely due to the stamping process and die itself, but mainly due to the traditional stamping equipment and backward manual operation. With the progress of science and technology, especially the development of computer technology, with the progress of mechatronics technology, these problems will be solved as soon as possible two perfect.
